How Contract HIre/Lease Gap Insurance from Total Loss Gap can help you. For detailed information please try

If you have a lease agreement for a vehicle, without the option to own the vehicle, then Contract Hire/Lease Gap Insurance can protect any shortfall you encounter between the motor insurers settlement and the lease settlement if the vehicle is declared a total loss/write off.
For example, if your contract hire vehicle was stolen, the motor insurer said the current market value was £10,000 but your lease settlement was £13,000 then you could be left with a shortfall of £3,000 to pay. Lease/Contract Hire Shortfall Gap is designed to cover this difference.
Also provided is the optional addition or 'deposit protection' allowing you to protect, and claim back separately, up to £3,000 of your initial 'deposit' or 'advanced' rental.
Again, expanding our previous example, if there was a £3,000 shortfall on the lease settlement then the standard lease/contract hire gap can cover this shortfall. However, if you had put an advanced rental (so on a typical lease profile of 6X35 this would mean your advanced rental would be 6 monthly payments) then this advanced rental can also be covered if the option to do so is taken.
